Meeting with Aunt Lil At our Cousin Edna's Homestead

On the 8th and the 9th of October my sisters and brother are going to Edna Schmidt Anderson's Homestead to meet with our Aunt Lil.  Aunt Lil is rather deaf now, but her mind is as good as ever and we are hoping to find out more about our family history so we can record it on this blog.   So check back later in October.  Hopefully, we will have some more information to share with you from our Aunt Lil.

In the meantime, I am going to post more information my sister Jan has collected in her genealogy quest through the years.

Edna Schmidt Anderson

Edna (Schmidt) Anderson, owner, operator, and developer of the Living Legacy Farmstead near Belmont, IL. After a successful career in health services in Columbus, OH, Edna retired to her home place to develop a bed and breakfast as well as to restore the outbuildings and develop a conservation area. She is now semi retired and still living on the farmstead.

Edna is the daughter of Minnie Juenger Schmidt.

My Grandmother's maiden name was Reneschler

Back from a Short Vacation in Chicago

Here is a picture of me in front of Minnie Juenger Schmidt's picture.  My picture was taken several years ago when we were at Edna's bed and breakfast.  My sisters said there was some resemblance between the two of us.  I'm not sure I see it, but maybe you will.

My granddaughter, Reagan, and I spent 3 days last week in Chicago.  We had great fun and made some wonderful memories, but it is good to be home again.  It isn't for long, however.  Tomorrow I am taking 2 other grandchildren to the zoo and then my husband and I are going to Southern Illinois for several days.  I am telling you all of this because I won't be posting much for awhile.
